Ouija boards

I'm very curious to hear others thoughts and opinions on the use of Ouija boards. Personally I had always feared them until recently. My daughter contacted a spirit through the Ouija board who was quite nasty, it repeatedly told her it was going to kill her. At this point I intercepted and demanded the spirit leave and stay away from us, I then used white sage and holy water to cleanse of any lingering evil spirits. Although I'm quite new to both Wicca and only just started my medium course this did seem effective.
But this experience seemed to cause my daughter to feel able to control the situation with not so nice spirits and her interest in the Ouija boards increased. I agreed to do one with her as it was apparent shed do it again with or without me. I cleansed the area and cast a protection circle first, I also asked my spirit guide to assist us. My mother who passed away when I was 10yrs old came through, this was an amazing experience for me and peaked my own interest in the Ouija board.
Like I said I'm still not very experienced in any of this but have found I seem to be able to create a stronger connection than others I've seen use the board and have been quite drawn to it since.
However I've found the majority of spirits who have communicated with me have been young children, usually they say they are having problems passing over or are scared to and ask for my help. Normally I tell them I'm not experienced enough to help them and assure them they need not be scared. The last time this happened I decided to try something I'd read and called my spirit guide, I asked her to help the little boy and she said she would. When I spoke to him again he told me he wasnt scared anymore and seemed much happier.
I'm finding it hard to find much useful information on the subject and although I feel quite drawn to it I'm not sure if it's wise for me to use it, also if they are okay to use I'd like more insight on how to help these spirits who ask for my help to cross over. Any insight would be much appreciated.
