Fey

Let the fey join here. Discuss faeries, elves, nymphs, and the like? Not my forte in knowledge of the paranormal so I would love to hear people's thought on this subject. What are general strengths, weaknesses, issues, and personalities? I know they tend to taste sweeter and have a strong affinity with nature. I have also heard they tend to have quick reflexes and be lithe in look. Anyone else have thoughts or information? Also, what other types of fey are there besides the ones I mentioned?

There are as many varieties of Faerie folk as there are cultures in the world. From the Fay and faeries of the celts, the Elves and dark elves of the germanic and norse tribes, to the Djinns and Geinies of arabia. These are just a few. Every animal and plant have faeries that watch over and aid them. Every special place is tended by the little folk. The Fay watch over and care for the lesser faeries, and guard much magickal knowledge, even the knowledge that has been forgotten in this world. Though the Fair folk are wary of humans because of persecution and our destructive nature to our environment, connections can be made with patience and pure intent. I centralize much of my path around the faerie realm, and otherworld magick, though my knowledge focuses on the Celtic varieties. I would love to hear from other cultures as to their own experiences and the faeries they befriend.

Well I had a Faerie Guardian when I was a kid, you can ask my family they will tell you about my imaginary friend named Robin. I talked about him constantly. I said he lived in the Green, and there was a portal through these flowering vine bush things we had when I was little. I said it lead to Faerie and that Robin says one day I'll live there. It's amazing what I would tell my family and they would just dismiss, I guess cause they are Christian but really... I mean I told my aunt she was pregnant before even she knew when I was like 6 years old. I said Robin teaches me how to know what the feelings I get from people mean. So I guess they don't just guard lesser faeries, cause I'm not Fey, just human lol. Mostly. I think my son has a guardian too, or might, but he's been faerie blessed, he just suddenly got pointed ears when he was like a month old, and I'm told I had pointed ears when I was a baby too, but not when I was born and they went away and rounded as I got older, then the person telling me gets this weird look like that's odd why didn't I realize it before then goes oh well.

Hmmm.. interesting. From what little I know, few fey or fey blessed keep their pointed ears though they do seem to keep other prominent features such as angular, lithness, and high cheek bones are are associated with the fey but can still be easily human.

i dont really think there is a standard "pointy-eared rule" fae gifts come in all sorts of ways and are different for everyone

I didn't keep them they rounded out by a year, and my son's are already starting to round, I think its just to mark us as their's. But I do have a lithness, or did before the baby weight lol and I have high cheek bones, we'll see what my lil one looks like as he gets older.

Talen, I just ordered a book by Ann Moura called Green Witchcraft. Is that a good one for learning more about Fay, or do you recommend a different one? You seem to know a lot about the subject.

D.J. Conway wrote a book on the Faerie realm that encompasses alot about the Fey. That's the best place to start.

It was odd and even a little unsettling to learn of my Fay nature. It did tend to explain a lot. Though I have only recovered two of my incarnations, I have been told that all have been Male, and all have been of Irish descent. This strikes me as odd to begin with. From what I have been able to gather, there is something strange connected to my Fay origin, and even so about my possible destiny. Those of Fay blood tend to be detached from the rest of humanity. They are usually very artistic, but can be outwardly cold toward others. I find the most unique trait in myself is the unusual amount of energy I generate. Within seconds of cleansing and releasing, it is back on full blast. I don't seem to draw it from others, so I can scratch psychic vampire off my list. I am very empathic, though it tends to flow outward and others pick up on my moods without knowing it. Other empaths get headaches when I'm angry. When I'm happy, I charge an entire room.

Hmmm... you have given me a lot of insight here. I have always felt detached from everyone, and I am also very cold to most people. I always get the "bitch" word thrown at me because I do not speak much, and feel quite uncomfortable around all but a few people. I love to create things, draw, paint, make sculptures, write, anything to express.... Also, I always thought that I had a little psychic vampire in me, because others moods would change to emulate my own when I am around, but what I get from what you are saying is that I would not be a psychic vampire because I do not draw things from other people....interesting.....

Even just being a horse in the ancient Adrastai (also called Elenari) world, or realm, if you will, I have a lot of these characteristics, so it's pretty interesting to hear this description. It's very difficult for me to keep my emotions to myself or to "turn them off," so to speak. I can fill a room with my energy, as my Reiki Master loves to tell me. And it's extremely difficult to control. I am very sensitive, tho, to others' energies as well, and that's probably the biggest difference between us. Perhaps it's because I was a horse, and not elfin, back then? Something to consider... But I am also extremely detached from others, and only choose certain people to be very close to. I have a lot of "friends," but not too many that know much of my inner feelings or really that much about my real inner workings.

Interesting. I had an ex boyfriend with these similar traits, and I found out he was fey. Not sure what flavour though. I didn't pick up his emotions though, but I also have a fairly strong defence so that may be why there.
