Again, this is a subject I know little about so I would love to get some feedback and hopefully learn more. Give me info! From what little I have heard, metallic dragons tend to be more "good" while the rest tend to be "evil" or neutral.

Of course, the actual physical thing is no longer around but simply are souls and guardians now.

There really is no good or evil. From a Correllian perspective, dragons are more like spirit guides and protectors - so they are ultimately a manifestation of your higher self and its connection to the divine energy. In the 2nd degree material, there is a lesson spell to seek out and befriend your astral dragon.

"The dragon is a powerful symbol of strength and energy. Analogous to the serpent the dragon represents psychic power and Divine energy. At a cosmic level the dragon represents the flow of the universe, what the Chinese call Tao. At an individual level the dragon represents personal power and attunement to the universe."
Well, there is good and evil, but I understand what you are saying. Note the "good" and "evil" in the quotes. :P
There has to be a careful distinction between the Dragons we relate to in Magick, and the dragons from the popular role playing games. When it comes down to it, I rarely work with dragons because the relationship can be very tricky at times. Dragons are highly intelligent beings. What I do know is that they must be approached as equals. Approaching a dragon as being dominant or subserviant can be a dangerous thing. They can make fierce guardians and very rewarding companions.

"Meddle Not in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
I have to agree with this, and I am very hesitant to work with a Dragon for just such a reason. Dragon has never shown him/herself to me, and so I really don't think I'd have cause to work with Dragon until or unless that happened, for this very reason. You can't be complacent, or ever become so when working with Dragon, and you can't ever fear him, either... It's a tough balance to achieve, IMHO.
I don't know enough about Dragons as otherkin, only as working with them magickally, and even that, I know only the little that's been already posted! I do wish someone would post, as I know there has been some discussion on another forum I belong to. I'd like to learn more, like you would, 18th Century Tears. Where ARE those dragon-kin?

Hugs and BB,
jen :)
Some of that sounds like Dungeons and Dragons myth as well. Because I KNOW in D&D they believe all the dragons that are metallic or a mineral are "supposedly" evil. Okay, I'm going to share. I was a Copper Dragon in one of my previous lifetimes. She was/is not inherently bad or evil. Again, good or evil is a matter of perspective. Dragons in a way are just like people, you get enough of one particular color doing ill or bad things, it kind of gives a bad rep for the rest of them. There's also TONS of Dragon myth that spans the entirety of the planet as well - good and bad alike. I also happen to work with a Spirit Guide who is a Dragon and I KNOW he is darkly colored but I know for a FACT he is not simply a Black Dragon. :P And those I know most people feel have a bad rep so it's neat to me. Any who, thought I'd share.
