The paranormal seems to be growing ever more popular nowadays. Although this seems to be most true with vampires, there are several other "creatures" out there that seem to be getting more fame such as elves, faeries, and werewolves. How do you feel about this and how they are depicted? How do you feel about the people that are into these fictional beings? Also, what are your views on role playing that involve such beings?

I'm loving the new Teen Fiction books, there are tons about Faeries and most of them are pretty spot on. I think it's a great time now, the time of knowing, can't wait for the seeing =P
Yeah, it's always better when they are closer to the truth. I mean, you expect them to exaggerate the abilities and weaknesses more since it is fiction, like the Anita Blake series from Laurell K. Hamilton is pretty spot on. There is only one fey book in that series, but she also has her Merry Gentry series which is about the faerie court. I haven't read it though, and I personally do not know much about the fey.
Merry Gentry?? Is that in Teen Fiction, cause I haven't seen it.
It's actually an adult book. I'd advise being 16 before reading it since there are graphic sex scenes.
I'm 25 lol, I think I meet the age restriction. That's why I said I'm really into the Teen Fiction, cause I also have a almost 7 month old son and he doesn't like to let me read long books too often, so the Teen ones are a nice quick read.
Do you mean the Meredith Gentry series?? That's what I came up with when I searched it at bn.com
It's the same thing. And her writing process is fairly easy to read. I don't know how thick the Merry Gentry books are now, but the Anita Blake ones have gotten rather thick, but I still can finish them within the week.
Yeah I'm being bad and reading excerpts on bn.com of the Merry Gentry books, I should go to sleep before my son wakes up lol
Amanda - the merry books are REALLY good. you should definitely read them, they are very worth it. (and also very sexual, lol)

18th Century - I was gonna ask you if you had read Anita Blake since you were talking about having a vampire who feeds of sexual energy - very arduer like - did you name him Jean after Jean Claude?
Yeah I was reading the excerpts and liked those, picked up the book to read at B&N but my mom and aunts showed up so I didn't get to read it.
I did not name him. He named himself, but yes, that is where he got the name from since he even looks similar to JC, and his need to feed was never as bad as Anita or Jean-Claude. Well, prebooks JC. Funny thing is I even dated a hunter who acted like Anita, and I took her from a whiny wolf (Richard much?).
Oh my gods, Em, I wound up buying the book and yeah very sexual my bf says they will be the death of him cause I got addicted lol. But thanks 18th Century for the recommendation I loved it can't wait to read the rest
