Merry Meet all....I just joined. I found so much for my alter and all from 2nd hand stores. My latest and greatest find was a brass candle snifter. I wasn't going to buy one on ebay so i waited until it came to me. I found one in a little 2nd hand store in Iowa while visiting my daughter. Small store, small showcase. Now I am looking for a brass bell. I will wait unti the calling come again. Blessed Be all.

I love the idea of getting old beads and pieces from thrift shops. One thing I've always wanted to do but never gotten around to is making jewelry from old chandelier beads. At this antique shop near me, there is a whole chest of drawers filled with bits from old chandeliers. They already have holes and hooks in them. My other idea was to fill a small treasure chest with them and burry it somewhere then make a map for my little cousins to find.

That's awesome. When i was a kid, I used to buy ancient batman comics from a nearby antique store. That was the sort of thing that got me hooked. My real gateway drug was the Archie comics they had.
