I have been trying to do a lot of self healing over the past year. Isolating myself for the protection of family and friends is a hard road to travel. Self Medication (Alcohol) is also a path that can have catastrophic effects. When in the Army, they kept me on a cocktail of seroquel and xanax... Most days I didn't know my own name. The VA has a better answer. Vistaril (Hydroxizine). A simple Antihistamine that helps take the edge off anxiety. The only downside is that drinking while taking it can make you quite nauseous. The area I am in doesn't have anyone trained for EMDR therapy which is a simple but effective eye movement technique. Daily meditation helps, but opening psychic abilities can cause nightmares to become more frequent and realistic. Sometimes all we can do is hang in there and do the best we can.

Merry Meet
I have suffered various things in the past, but I was also married to a Vietnam Vet who was 100% disabled and had a heart attack caused by PTSD. He died at the age of 39, nearly 20 years ago. I loved him with all my heart, even though we struggled with his disability for years. I miss him still. We had two sons that have tried to convince me to continue with my life, but I don't seem to be able to. Anyway, I am ready and able to help with discussions of PTSD, how it affects family members and ways to deal with the worst of times. Please contact me any time.

Morphine found to help stave off PTSD in wounded troops

Morphine has been used to relieve pain from battle wounds as far back as the Civil War. Now it might have another use.

i have ptsd and gender dysporia... what fun thus brings.. my ptsd is brought on from a foster home i was in that beat me and held me at knife point and was nice enough to get a diagnosis of skitzophrantic put on me... IM personaly glad i found this group

My sis an I have this photo.We had (an our bros) a charred past,she was like a mother to me.Well,we are twins,she is older lol.. I think she shielded me thus she was the one who was traumatized I believe. Can an invitation be sent to her? She is a kind soul.WhisperingAmethyst is her name.Thank You Hecate Bless ShadowWhisper
