Thanks for responding and sharing with me.

Teaching Reiki is a gift of the sacred. It is more than just the attunement process. Many of these teachers are providing attunements with out the practice and teachings of how to use this energy.

Comment by Lori S on October 4, 2011 at 6:41pm: @ Cara, I totaly understand your feelings about this. I become disgusted at those who charge such outrageous fees for attunements and healings. I have met people who have had their first two attunements to Usui Reiki and they don't know a thing. There are so many methods and ways to teach that you either really have to do your research or hope you get lucky with your teacher. It is sad that a few bad apples are out there, but you can change that one person at a time. Blessed Be!

I have been working with the Reiki energy for eighteen years now.

I am always open to learning and sharing.
I have an open mind about the differnt forms of Reiki that have sprung up this last decade but I worry that some masters have diluted the mix to a very large degree and what I teach and what others teach are two very different things. I attended a Reki II class that was scheduled for a single day. I was shocked at the amount of what I think is essential content that was missing, including teaching and practicing distant healing and looking at becoming a practicioner. It was not there. I did work with this master and shared the teachings I honour. She was teaching true to what she had been taught by her Master Teacher. It is sad but true.

I would like to know what others think about the dilution of the tradional Usui teahcing of Reiki.
