Many people don't realize how touch can change change an attitude, an emotion and more.  When getting into super advanced Reiki training, you find that Reiki can be done in many forms of touch.

I've had a very sick dog over the past month and a half.  She has been running fevers well over 105 degrees.  One night her fever got up to 105.7 degrees.  Immediately, I started Reiki.  I used a form of one handed Reiki.  I put one hand on the dog and grounded the other hand.  I used my mind and many symbols.  Basically, while chanting Choka Rei, I visualized drawing out the fever with the hand that was on the dog and channeling the fever out the ground hand.  Within 10 minutes I got the fever down to 103.8 degrees.

When rubbing your pets or holding them, you are doing Reiki.  They love it.

Unfortunately, my story don't have the best ending.  Using the Reiki, I was able to keep her comfortable.  Her liver failure was started moving to other areas.  We had to put her down yesterday.  I know that the touch of Reiki helped her pain and suffering.

Blessed be to you all,

Ricky

I also have a dog that I have been doing Reiki on. Silky was about 7 when I started doing Reiki on her, she was a doog that lived at the meditation center I move to. Silky had bad back legs. They got her from a shelter and they did not know how her legs got that way. Be for I started she could walk but not run and would get tired fast. I started Reiki on her while the owners where gone on a trip. When they got back Silky ran to meet them. They asked me what I did, I told them and they where happy and said keep it up. Now 1yr later silky is running and playing with the younger dogs and whipping up on them :). She is a very happy dog full of energy. I am all for Reiki on pets.

i recently got a wonderful book about Reiki and animals. my cat gets Reiki and Green Taras' mantra anytime she wants it (unless I'm doing homework, then we compromise: I cuddle with her and type with 1 hand). i have no car, the buses here are lousy and after reading about the crisis that tore up our local humane shelter, i decided to wait before starting to offer my Reiki to a rescue group. However, i discovered a kitten rescue group at a local garden center that is only 4-5 blocks away and i don't have to cross any dangerous streets. once the weather is better, as i get sick easy myself, i plan to go to the center, talk to Nicki, and offer to do free Reiki on their kittens, not just for their health and emotional happiness but to help them find safe, good and happy homes. I don't have money to offer nor will my feline familiar or my lease, let me have another feline. Once I move, I hope to get an animal Reiki healing practice going. It will all depend if i can start by helping the rescue kitten group. This city is not that open to things like Reiki and The Craft. The areas where I am moving to is much more open. dolmadraka

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I am a veterinary technician and animals are my passion. I am sure you brought her comfort. I hope to be able to learn how to use Reiki myself. I am very much into healing others.

here is a neat group that you may find of interest. http://shelteranimalreikiassociation.org It was founded by one of the authors of ANIMAL REIKI, Kathleen Prasad. I stopped by a small kitten rescue center at a nearby garden shop and left material about reiki and animals for the head of the rescue center. The other ladies there let me do a brief get-to-know the kittens/cats reiki treatment. One young female, Phoebe would make a wonderful familiar for someone. Oh, there were young kittens that were fighting with each other, i wish i could've brought them all home but my small apartment, present jelous feline and not being able to afford all the security deposits and finances in general kept me from it. If you can volunteer at a rescue center, please do, Herne will bless you and so will Green Tara. DolmaDraka
