Do you think that it's possible for a grand master to try and attune and train and teach a student through the internet? If someone finds this interesting and is willing to try it, I've been wanting to learn Reiki for so long and am game.

Hello, I am a very strict teacher, so I would never do a lesson via internet. Japanese teachers would never ever have done something like this. Sorry, some folks do it... It is your choice.
Constantinus? Did you by chance derive your name from the renowned Occult author Konstantinos?

Yeah. Traditionalists don't do that, but you see, the computer itself is something that can be used. Cyberspace serves as a bridge between two people from two entirely separate countries. I want to see if anyone would be willing to test this technology's limits as to how it can help us out this way, and reiki would be one of the ways I could test it. So yeah. If you wish ask around and let's see if it all works out?
Hello. No I am not this person. This is my real name written in latin, as its origins are. Konstantinos is the same name by the hellenic pronunciation.
Ok it is your opinion. I respect it, but my work on Reiki system affects me in another traditional way. It is a choice.
(nods) Of course. I'm not forcing you to do it. It is your choice. It is understood and respected.
I don't choose to teach through the internet. I'm not trained traditionally, so don't get me wrong here, but I also don't believe that training can be attained in this way effectively. It's simply my belief. I think that to treat a Reiki Master's beliefs so glibly (as in your response to Constantinus) is to disrespect his teaching and his ways. It's a bit inappropriate and, yes, even a bit rude. I can understand your wanting to be taught, and your eagerness for an approach that is less traditional, but to scoff at those of us who choose not to train others in this way is, perhaps, not the best way to convert us.

Why don't you check out the numerous groups here on WSI who DO offer Reiki training? There were a number of them, last I checked. This isn't really the forum in which to ask for that training, as it's simply a social group. This is more for discussion, but WSI should have a number of teaching groups you can choose from.

Hugs and BB,
Jen :)
You misunderstand me.

I never meant disrespect, nor did I mean to be rude by my comments. I simply stated that traditionalists don't do anything well, non-traditional. I apologize for my ignorance as I am new to the site. Keep in mind that I'm not part of the Witch School though. I neither want conversion, merely people who are eager to break the limits established to further ourselves in magickal arts such as these. This does not mean that I do not respect the elders and masters. Oh no, I do respect them highly because if it weren't for them we wouldn't've gotten as far as we have now. Don't mistake me I do highly respect them.

However, I do not apologize for my views and thoughts. If you know for sure that there are groups who DO offer Reiki training, why not point me in the right direction? Again, please don't misunderstand me. An energy reading on this post will suggest hostility, but there is no reason for me to be so. It is merely how I can interact with people sometimes. I do believe that Reiki can be passed down and taught effectively, but it is a hypothesis that must be tested before conclusions can be reached.
Hi Mit,

I think we got off on the wrong foot, so let's try this again. First, I wasn't doing any energy readings. I was merely going off the reply. Second, your words sounded glib, not hostile. Please don't take anything more than what I stated, as I did with you. :) Glibness to me, seemed mocking, and mocking I found to be rude. That's all. I apologize if I took you the wrong way. I don't believe that you should apologize for your thoughts or views, ever, and I won't apologize for mine. How does that sound? :)

Being a part of this network makes you a part of WSI ning. There are groups here on this network who offer distance training. I think you simply haven't done your homework, and that's not a dig at you, so please don't misunderstand me--you just need to search this site to find the information you're looking for.

As for pointing you in the right direction, I felt that I had already done that by pointing out that there are groups here who offer that? I don't know exactly which one would be appropriate for you, so the best thing to do would be for you to go to the top of the main page and click on "groups," and you should be able to do a search for reiki, or simply look through all the groups that are available here on the WSI ning network. It's up to you how you want to do it. It'll take you hours, likely, should you try to search the entire network for which reiki teaching group you'd like to learn from, but that's your decision. You need to decide who will be the best teacher for you, and which group you will likely fit in best with. I can't tell you, and IDK the groups or teachers.

I hope that will clear up the misunderstanding AND get you where you would like to go?

Hugs and BB,
jen :)
:)

Well, I didn't mean to sound superficial, just informal and laid back. Of course I wouldn't want you to apologize for your thoughts and opinions. But anyways, I knew that I'd have to do a site wide search after reading your comment :P. I just asked you because your reply to me irritated me (Blame communication gap XD). So yeah. We did get off on the wrong foot. It happens, and is not new. :)
Greetings!

Congraqtu;ations on your interest in Reiki. It's fascinating and empowering.

Some Reiki masters do distance attunements. My own preference is to work in person, but you should have no difficulty finding someone willing to work over distance with you.

Namaste,

Seasons Syphrit
Namaste Syphrit.

Out of interest, I do wonder if you do know the meaning of the word "Namaste" :P

Me being from India and all I've never really understood the western perception of the word. :)

Thanks for your input, by the way. I'm in search already of someone who'd do that with me
Namaste, as it was taught to me, "The Divine in me Greets the Divine in you." I learned the word from a Christian Minister, who is also a writer. Below is the link for Reiki training here at WSI. Best of Luck to you.

Thank you. And that interpretation seems to be correct :)
