I did a little research on this subject. And it is similar to witch bottles or jar spells. I did find an old (2010) discussion about this from WSI Boookof Shadows Club. From that discussion a few members are concerned with doing harm with these. But If your first impulse is to do harm than you probably aren't going to be on this site anyway. You would be on a more satanic site. But, if you are wanting to capture say - the spirit of compassion, then you fill it with the things that represent that quality. I am used to doing jar spells, but capturing the spirit of love, or patients or grace sounds wonderful. Now I need to do some research on what I need to do for my first "Spirit" jar. Will keep you posted on this. BB

MM, This sounds interesting. I've have done many jar spells but no spirit jars. i know about bottles/jars to capture negative spirits, But Is this for attracting positive spirits? Anyway I look forward to this. BB

It appears that a spirit jar could be an oracular device for precognition, spellcasting assistance, feng shui energy alignment and access to a spirit guide. They seem to be a recent addition to the metaphysical scene, or maybe just a vague reference to a magic lamp?

What exactly is a spirit jar? Sounds interesting.
