In addition to the previous comment, this is one of the reasons I originally started the group. There is a woeful tendency to just sit back and take the information that is spoonfed.

Re. the lack of activity here - life has been requiring other things from me, taking me in a different direction. I likely won't be spending a lot of time on this site anytime soon. Therefore, please don't sit back & wait for me. There are others in this group who are entirely capable of keeping the conversation going.

Hi Pio,
We're looking at live & personal, as people find their own way. We also welcome additions to the reading list. Contributions based on informed research regarding the history, personalities and practices of various traditions are what we're after. The point is to get people to do the research, do the reading, not have it handed to them on a platter.

Hi, I don't know if I'm asking anything obvious here, but have you looked at (or purchased) encyclopedias of occult practices, encyclopedias of Religion or encyclopedias of spirituality, to answer any of these questions about traditions, practices & paths? Or, are you asking about personal (lived) experience regarding these paths, practices & traditions? ~BB

The first discussion has wandered a bit off-topic. That's ok, though. I will take it into another thread. I guess it's time, too, to open a new discussion which I will do in the next few days.

My summer work season has come to an end, and although I'll be job hunting, I hope to have more time to be here. I've had some computer issues as well, one part of which is solved. I got another computer. Now this one has issues of its own - stupid Vista operating system. Seriously don't like it.

Wow, I've been away a long time! Well, the work (horticulture) season is winding down. Which, unfortunately means I'll be looking for other work now. On the plus side, I've updated some things in my computer which make it easier to function on this site. Other than that, I'm playing with setting up an Etsy.com shop.

What have you all been up to?

Hi all,

Checking in to say I'm still here. It's been a little hectic this past week or so. I have a couple of things in mind that I will post to the discussion. And also to respond to Lotustar's question.

Lotustar, good to see you here. Thank you for the kind words.

I'm thinking of how we can grow this group. We've just started and I know these things take time. One thing I thought of is, each of you could invite any friends you think might be interested. I've posted a general invitation on the 'groups' page, too.

MM Deowolfe,

Well, there you are at last. It's good to hear from you. 5 years, huh? Where does the time go. I was looking through one of my journals this morning and found the entry about the pipe ceremony we went to when you came down here that fall.

You know you can e-mail me any time.

So are we supposed to introduce ourselves here or under introduction? Well I guess I will introduce myself here! My name is Deowolfe, which means spirit wolf. I have been a member of WitchSchool since the beginning of 2005, and can you believe it Arty, I have now known you now for 5 yrs?! When we were both first studying 1st degree with the same mentor! I am 39 yrs old & self identify as a Shamanic Witch. I am a Social Worker with at risk youth and rescue abandoned cats. I have been with my hubby for 20yrs now and we have a 19yr old son.

I haven't been doing any of my studies here on WS for about a yr as I have been dealing with Depression and have decided recently I NEED to get back into things especially involving my Spirituality, so here i am participating.

I have looked at the discussions involving the start of this group and think this group is a great idea! It is important for us to look at and research other cultures & spiritualities so that we at least have a basic understanding of some of the other facets of this giant diamond, that Orion mentioned is at the core of the Correllian approach to Deity.

I also noticed in those discussions that there are many of us who identify with a Shamanic Witchcraft identity. So I am glad to see that's where we are starting with our reading and discussions. I am looking forward to interacting with you all!
With Much Light, Love & Laughter
