Just to get things started here are a few things I have done with my children.

We go on walks in the woods and see if we can see tree or rock people. We look for faces and when we do find any we thank them for showing themselves to use and leave a gift of seeds with them.

Every spring we have a house blessing and prosperity ritual. We get a piece of paper and a quarter. We draw images on the paper that illustrate the things we need to be happy and healthy in the comming year. Everyone takes their turn and when it is done we all say a blessing over the quarters wrapped in paper and we all burry the quarter outseide the doors to the house.

I"d love to do that with you when you do it. But i have a question. What if you live in an apartment? were would you burry it?
I you live in an apartment then I would recomend that you get a small plant and place it near the main entrance to your home and bury the paper in this dirt.

If I can remember correctly, according to Feng Shui, a plant close to the door adds to the Earth energy of the entire house/apartment too. Hope I got this right now... I find Feng Shui a bit complicated.
Me too. I would love to know more about that. One thing i do know is that to increase postive chi in a house hang crystals in the windows. I also have house guardians that I have placed at each door. The main front door has a gargoyle and the other door has a read chinese dragon.
I haven't done much with Alex yet, he's only two. My biggest concern right now is that I practice my religion. I want the way I live to be an example to my son.

My husband and I take Alex outside whenever we can. He loves the outdoors and loves to explore.
That is the perfect way to start. That is what I did with my youngest two as they were about tht age when I really started to practice and study this path. We spend a lot of time in the woods and looked for faces in the trees and in the rocks. It is one of the favourite games we play.

We were weeding and clearing out our back yard and I pulled up a lot of big rocks that I told my dughter they were dragon's teeth. She loved this and we all went looking for dragon's teeth. She did ask why they looked like rocks and I told her because dragons are very special and they only like people who believe in them to see them so they disguise their teeth so that only special people can see them and know what they are.

Of course when she told my mother about it she laughed at her and told her that was just silly. Almost broke her heart. I just continued to tell her that only special people who believe understand what we found.
I can't think of a more fun ritual for the little ones than dancing around the May pole, twirling brightly colored ribbons around it and running in the circle! Summer is finally there (most places) and it's warm outside, and they can run bare-foot in the new grass if possible and safe. It may take some practice and work, I'm aware of that, but it's fully possible to do this even with a small group of people.
THat sound like a great idea. I tried to put htis together for the may day celebration at work this year but unfortunatly I did not have the time to get it worked out. I do have it planned for next year though.
that sounds like fun....i'd love to be down to help you celebrate that.
This was one for work so I don't think you would be able to help out. Although one at home with the family would be great too. Come on up for that one.
Our children activities are usually bound by nature and need. I wish I had more time for some of the fun stuff stated here. One of our favorite activity is to go "hunting" for flowers and other plant life. The kids find some of the nicest stuff.

Another nice activity we do is to sing on the way to some place. We do sing Pagan and secular songs. The kids love this and usually be very quiet by the end of most songs, just to listen to me. *Blush* They say I sing pretty.

We also have an on going contest in the house. I have a certificate booklet with raffle tickets attached. The child gets a certificate for a prize they may redeem at any time (such as no home work or chores) and a raffle ticket to be drawn every three months for a big prize. There are three categories; school work, behavior, and chores. In order to win a child must be nominated by mom and dad collectively. There are up to 3 nominations per category. Then the child must be voted as the best in this category by the whole family. This is only one of many systems we use to encourage our children to do what is required of them.

Another activity is called: going to town. This is just as it sounds, but is so important because the child that goes (or children) always receive a treat such as a lollipop or ice cream. It gives me one on one time with each child, which is so important when you have as many as I do.
