I would like to know what kind of magical tools have you given members of your family?

My children each have magical stones and my oldest ahs a wand he made himself. They are all familiar with my magical tools and I was explaining to my 13 year old that he needs to learn that he cannot pick up any tool he wants to anymore. I told him when he was younger that it was okay but as he gets older and begins to work with his own energy he needs to be sensitive. Just as I do not touch his pendulums he must respect and not touch my tools without asking.

This is why I made sure that the tools I have that he is curious about that we find a way to get him one for himself to work with and get to know better.

I am sure they exist but I have not seen any and it would be very interesting to see Wiccan themed baby toys.
I do not think that there is a certain amount of tools that a 13 year old needs. My son has a wand. Other than that he collects pendulums and has a set of runes. I think that a couple are fine as long as they are good to the tools that they have.
My oldest son is turning 10 this month. He has a nice collection of crystals and a pendulum. Crystals is what he has shown the most interest in. I encourage his interest in learning more about them and collecting the crystals that draw his attention. He also will be getting an incense burner (used only with supervision) for his birthday. My youngest son is 5 and so far he is only interested in crystals but he doesn't quite understand them yet. So he has about 12 or so that he has collected. He's so proud of them!

I say that within reason see what your child is interested in. Obviously an atheme wouldn't be a good idea or candles. Beyond that see what kind of tools he has the most interest in. Have him learn about them first and if that is something he is still interested in then I say let him get it either by using allowance if you do that or by earning it. If he doesn't already have one perhaps you can help him set up a little area in his room that is his altar area specifically for his items to make it even more special.
I agree that the age of a child will often dictate the type of tools they are allowed to have and use. I find that for my little children instead of using candles they have the simlated candles that are the same as a flashlight. They like being able to carry those especially the ones that can change colours. We found one that changes from red to green to blue and I think it has yellow so we call the quarters are the colours change.

All of my children love their stone collections. They have quite the assortment and now that mommy is in business and orders a great deal of stones for her shop they are on cloud 9.
