So, you're coming over from a Yahoo Group where you knew where
everything was and how everything worked and all of a sudden you're
in this Ning environment and can't figure out why everything's so
different, huh? Thought so. To start helping out with that
little issue, here's the first F.A.Q. to show you exactly how to
share files in the new WitchSchool Group structure!
Step #1: Well, Step #1 is to have something to upload that
you think the group in question would be interested in seeing/using
... but you
knew that already, so this is sort of Step #1a
...
In the group page there should be a "discussion forum" section. At
the bottom of the list of extant discussions there should be a link
"
+ Start Discussion" ... click on this. You will need
to be signed in, and a member of the group, for this to take you to
the next step.
Step #2: At this point you should be looking at the "Add a
Discussion" window, where you'll be filling in the title, content,
etc.
Below the text window are the "
Attach File(s)" controls.
Click on the "
Browse ..." button. This will pop up "Choose
File to Upload" window (or whatever a Mac does in these
situations), allowing you to navigate to the directory where the
file you want to upload is.
Step #3: I'm sure it's no huge surprise that at this point
you need to find the file you want to attach, click on it, and then
the "
Open" button ... which will then populate the file
field back at the "Add a Discussion" page with the selected file
...
... repeat the above to add additional files, as required.
Step #4: Once you have the files selected, and your initial
post written, titled, and tagged as needed, you'll want to click
the "
Add Discussion" button ...
... which should bring you to the page featuring the new
discussion. The files should appear at the bottom of your post, and
above the reply window, in a list of "Attachments:".
There ... that's wasn't hard, was it?
