The Pagan Census - Revisited

September 7 2009The Pagan Census - RevisitedEd HubbardTwenty years ago, a great project sought for Pagans to declare themselves and be counted. This is something Don, Brendan, Traci, Janet and I participated in, and we handed out the census all over Chicago. It was important. Now 20 years later they are doing a new Pagan Census in order to compare our numbers and growth. I think this is a vitally important survey, and one that will give us a fair image.Copy and paste the link…See More

Computer Alert!

Posted on April 30, 2009 at 2:11pm 1 Comment

This morning I had an interesting occurrence on my computer. Things were fine when I turned it on. Then about 9:15AM a window appeared in the middle of my screen. It explained that my computer was “locked” and that it could only be unlocked by myself or an administrator. There was a place for my name (which was already displayed) and a password, which had four dots in it much like a sign in.

This is a scam!!!! The goal is to get you to type in the passwords that you use. This is an… Continue

Your attempts at Russian are great! Russian is a very difficult language because of declensions, prepositions and so on.
I'm really glad that I can now have friend from other countries. I was in US in 99.Now I'm sorry that it happened then but not now. I would visit some pagan actions if I can. I saw video at youtube of ceremonies of The Temple of Astral Light if I don't . I'm very curious about it.
You saw my boyfriend. We are engaged. Thanks a lot for blessing! We send blessings you and your church!
In my album "Pagan beauty" you can find photos from celebrations of traditional holidays in Russian pagan community. If you interested in it, I can tell you about them. You may learn about social position of Russian pagan community at http://velesovkrug.nm.ru/english.htm (Veles is ancient slavic god of wisdom, prosperity and The Other World. He is very similar to Odin, Shiva and Kern. Krug means circle in Russian). I'm not belong to it, but prefer this one among others communities.
Where can I find more information about your church? I'm not sure if I can find a lot at your website.

I'm very happy that I can communicate with you!

Thanks! I'm very moved that you use Russian language. But I think I should practise English, so we both can speak English. I'm afraid I can't understand what you said in the last sentence :( Could you please translate it into English?
I think it's greate that there is a big community of pagans in english-speaking world. In Russia there are a lot of pagans of many traditions. The biggest stream is a slavic tradition but even there there are a lot of communities that are not very frendly to each other. It's very sad. There are 3 or 4 big pagan shrine In Moscow, Moscow area and some nearest areas. About 2,000 people celebrate Midsummer there every year. And the only reason why they don't get together in one place is the conflicts in top leadership. I hope one day we all will get together :)
About my name. My parents gave me name Anna but when I decided to be a pagan of slavic tradition I was given a new name. It's old slavic name Svetozara and Zara is a short form of my name. Svetozara means lighting up with inner light. I'm not shure that I reproduce the meaning right but I hope you'll understand.
Thnks a lot for URL of you church! I will read it, I'm very interested in it. Especially in photos, I allways was very curious about the collective ceremonies in Wicca.
Now I'm looking for a good photos of celebrations of traditional holidays in Russian pagan communities. I'm not shure if I can publish photos with other people but I'll try to get them. The main difference between russian and other pagans is that our clothes, shrines and tools similar based on study of russian and other slavic languages, ancient literature, archaeological findings and so on. Russian countryside kept a lot of pagan traditions assimilated with christian traditions. For example the holiday of Midsummer one day became a christian holiday and was celebrating in the 7th of July. I'm very glad that the ancient traditions came back.
It's very interestng to learn the traditinos of your people, collect and keep them. Heritage marks not only pagans in Russia but witches too. There were a lot of witchs in countryside even 70 - 80 years ago. And the tradition is kept by modern witches and pagans.
Sorry, I wrote too much, hope it'll be interesting for you!
