It's a very rainy day here in the port city. I've been enjoying sitting by the open window listening to the rain pound down. I love the rain and I'm especially grateful for it today as my garden needs a good soaking.

Today is Remembrance day so we went to the big ceremony at Harbour Station (stadium). Vets of WWII are getting scarce on the ground now, but there were quite a few vets from Afghanistan there. I was pleased with the large turnout and especially the number of kids there. About 20 years ago almost nobody showed up for these things.

Well, as usual, a long time between posts. Had a very nce summer, despite the incredible amounts of rain. I got a lot of exercise and am definitely in better health becuse of it. I continued my volunteer work with kids and then started a paid job working with kids as a Human Services Counsellor, but that, alas, came to an end when I was laid off last week. So it's back to the job search for me. I have some leads on some interesting looking ones so not feeling too panicked… Continue

It's been a while since I was active, but getting back into studies again. Summer has been wet and cold so far this year but that usually means a long summer into October and possibly a St. Anthony's summer in November as well. I actually managed to get a lot of gardening done this year, and so far the groundhogs have left everything alone. I planted corn, peas, tomatoes, bananna peppers, spearmint, lavender, sunfowers, "butterfly mixture", petunias and nasturtiums. I also dug a small firepit… Continue
