Well, that explains a lot

After several years of looking at my now 10 year old son and wondering why he had problems keeping friends, why his social skills were lower than other kids his age, why he did certain things the way he did, we now know. He was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.

A friend of a friend's son has it and she works with special needs kids. She told me that she wouldn't be surprised if Kyle has it. So I got him tested. I told the doc exactly what I wanted her to look for. I never… Continue

SpiralScouts International needs volunteers!

Posted on March 28, 2010 at 12:23pm 0 Comments

Dear Members of the greater Pagan Community,

SpiralScouts International is in need of volunteers. Usually we remain within our existing registered affiliates to fill these roles, however we have found ourselves in a position where we need to open them up to the greater community. SpiralScouts has gone through a lot of changes in the last 2 years and we have been working hard to become the Scouting organization that our families are proud to be a part of. However, running an… Continue

Finally!

Posted on September 19, 2009 at 10:18am 0 Comments

School's officially started, finally! The family is back into the "school" routine. Here I thought I would have more time but I don't. I've been teaching preschool to our entire playgroup and that seems to take 1/2 day planning and then 1/2 day for the class. On top of that, I've been working on getting the SpiralScouts Leader's newsletter ready - fought with some formatting for 3 hours yesterday and then finally gave up. I'll get back to that later today.

And on top of doing yoga… Continue

This past week

Not much has happened. I worked on the store for a bit, added some new stuff. Did some back to school shopping for the kids. School doesn't start until Sept. 8th but I hate last minute running around for that kind of things.

I had 4 really painful days. I'm going back to the doctor next week for a thyroid re-check. I think I'm going to start pushing for treatment for the CFS. So far he seems more concerned with my thyroid. He listens to me most of the time, and I understand his point… Continue

My Vacation

Posted on August 4, 2009 at 10:59pm 1 Comment

Just in case you've been wondering.... I went to a family reunion in Island Park, Idaho and then to Yellowstone. Hubby couldn't go because he was on the road for work (which has changed, btw, more later). On the way home we stopped in Deer Lodge to take a tour of the old Montana state prison & check out the antique cars. My knees went weak over some of those Chargers & Mustangs. Yes, I'm a car junkie. It was only a week, but it took me almost a week to get ready and a week to recover.… Continue

Hi Alena:

Hope you're doing well! In case you are still interested in reading the adult fantasy series I created, the first three book in the Imago series are now available as ebook through Smashwords.com and Mobipocket. As well, the deluxe PDF edition complete with maps, graphics & more is on sale through my website. All at a fraction of the price of a print book through Trafford or Amazon. There are free downloads of sample chapters so feel free to have a read before you consider purchasing!
All the best

Greetings Everyone,

Can you post under the voullunteer link the day and hours that you are willing to be in the wsi sl room. Also if you could add what you plan to do during your time slot. Trying to get everyone coordinated and on the same page. Your help is very much appreciated.

Hi Crystal:

If you're going to buy a book, I'd highly recommend Book 3, A Warrior's Tale. It's actually a prequel to Book 1 & 2. My agent is planning to sell Book 3 as the first book in the series, and the production company interested in rights to a movie trilogy will also be looking at producing the prequel first. (If the deal goes through.)
They feel its easier to make actors look convincingly older than to do the prequel later and try to make them look convincingly young.
If you read only one book in the entire series, I recommend Book 3, A Warrior's Tale. If anything, I hit my stride in terms of writing style in this one. If you like strong female characters, I believe you'll enjoy reading about Nayla Treeborn's life.
All the best,
Lorna
