thoughts on bringing a child into the world

During pregnancy SO much happens and so much of the female body changes.I can't speak from a spouse point of view, none of my girlfriends were ever pregnant when I was with them. But I do understand that partners are excluding from the growing baby inside their pregnant partner's womb. They are scared and confused. to be taken with a grain of salt

Being pregnant is hard, especially at the very beginning (when your best friend is a ceramic bowl in a bathroom) and at the last 3rd (when you can no longer reach the floor, see your toes, reach the cupboards, or do much of anything for that matter because the baby is growing so rapidly it's got you exhausted.) Add a child to that mix. That means no napping when you need it, no breaks, finger prints all over the table you JUST washed and probably in something like peanut butter for that, toys…See More

That's a beautiful idea. Giving birth is one of the most magickal and sacred acts, and I'd rather have a beautiful piece of ritual clothing than a paper johnny any day. I love that you took some superficial hollywood custom and made it into something special.

Birthing Gown and other news

So today I bought the pattern for my birthing gown

there will be alterations, quite a few but this is the pattern

my under gown will be a natural unbleached white fabric with a lace front to allow for nursing the baby. The gown will only go to about my knees

Birthing Plans

Today I spent the day looking at the hospital policies.

You see I may prefer to have a home birth but to not be prepared for other scenarios seems illogical to me.

Sadly the rumor I had heard about the hospital allowing water birth was untrue but I am allowed to wear my own birthing gown, and have 3 support persons.

If I must go to the hospital I will be accompanied by my Midwife, Doula, and High Priestess.
