Our publication prints three times a year around the concepts of Maiden (Spring), Mother/Queen (Summer/Fall) and Crone (Fall/Winter). The upcoming issue will celebrate Ostara and the Vernal Equinox.
Spring/Maiden focuses on the young woman, initiation mysteries, the young women of today’s points of view on religion, women’s culture, feminism and the political. Celebrations, rituals and rites of spring (both newly created and old), recipes, myths, poetry and personal experiences. Articles should try to stay under the 3 to 4 page limit, 1500 to 2000 words.
We are very interested in information, tradition, and experiences outside of the European experience.
References: Very important! If you use ideas, information or phrases, whether direct quotes or paraphrased, from someone else’s writing, either in print and/or from a website, acknowledgement must always be made. Even if you know the material well, if it is not original with you, we need titles of books and other sources for our readers’ reference. This will be writer’s name, title of book, publisher and year of publication (or URL).
Issue 48 is due out in March - material deadlines are Jan 15th, 2010.
At this time, we pay for publication of your material with five contributors’ copies for art or written material, as well as a 1/6 page display ad (camera-ready), 3.25" tall by 3.75" wide in the issue your work appears in and a web ad on the front page of our site.
Submission does not guarantee publication, and at this time we only accept writing and art by women
