Greetings...
I am new to the path. I have read a few intro books and have practiced a few sabbats, even a spell or two...but I havent really been able to join any groups yet...my husband is Catholic incredably supportive but I guess I havent been able to get out of the broom closet yet...
My family is a mix of Catholic, Evangelical and there is even a Santerio...but even with the mix there is a stigma I pretty much have told only a few people(the ones that have a more tolerant heart). I know I found the right path...I feel peace in my heart for the first time...I just have been a solitary for about 2 years and need to branch out but how...? I also find that because I'm Latina a lot of the reasons for doing some rites and rituals arent really close to home..I know, understand and respect them but at times cant relate? I guess I am at the stage that I need to find a way to make them my own????

Comment by Tony Jenkins on July 9, 2009 at 10:48pm: Eclectic Wicca, which is really what the faith boils down to these days, is allowed to be personalized to a great extent, even so far as mixing in indigenous symbols and deities to help you better relate to your faith. Wicca stems from European Paganism and has influence from ceremonialism and Hermeticism, but by no means is it limited to these things. Unless, of course, you're one of those that believe Wicca only exists as a fertility cult and only within the confines of those initiated by Gerald Gardner, or that can trace a lineage back to him.

On coming out of the Broom Closet, Witch School is in talks of making a pamphlet on how best to do this, and how to do so safely at a time you can identify that you are ready. Just take your time and figure things out a little more for yourself. It'll come together.
