I would like to announce the reforming of a old order. The Order of Ares is a group for people that have a connection to the Warriors soul. We feel driven to protect and serve others, we do this by becoming cops, lawyers, joining the military and other jobs that allow us to care for others. We can be as dark as the night, but as gentle as a soft rain. We follow the Rede and do our best to up hold the value of all life.

A Warrior's Prayer

My heart is broken and my soul is no more,
I realize I have walked this path before.
Despite my arrogance and foolish pride,
The Divine still remains at my side.
By opening my third eye I now see,
Becoming Wiccan has set me free.
I now beg the Midnight Sky,
Have mercy on me and hear my cry!
Never before have I felt so much pain,
But the Goddess helped me learn to love again.
For although I am prone to sin,
I fight for love and I will win.
I fight for all my brothers and sisters to be free, to love, live and have peace.
On the front line you will find me in the battle old as time.
I fight with my words and my mind keeping the storm inside knowing this battle is as old as time.
I shall never attack the weak or make sport of my strength.
For I must stand for all and only release the storm in my soul when there is no other way.
So come join us by the fire.

Peace and Strength..

I have looked over the oath, and have felt the words in my soul for many years. I would be honored to be part of this and to be a brother to those that take that oath.

Beautiful prayer. I just might need it.

In our desert circle, we welcomed all to include many who only walked the warriors path. Some wished to learn new things, while many gave of their protective nature and watched over the rites as guardians. They lent their energy to strengthen the bounds of the circle and to lead in the merriment afterward. Our guardians were mostly Asatru or Shamans, but even I took the role when I could. I'm always most comfortable with a blade in my hands.

This prayer is definitely spoken from the depth of a warriors heart. Those pains and pleasures known all to well by those that have struggled and believe in protecting that which is important. Almost reminiscent of the "Old Code" from Dragonheart. That spirit of battle has never left this world. Though as times change it seems that Honor in War has lain dormant, it is still needed. And I believe that one day it will come again. Until then, I will stand ready. And when it comes, I will stand with you all.

Hail brother! Great poem, although I'm not Wiccan myself. I think we make up the two warriors on the site. After doing some soul searching, I see what you meant about magic. I looked up some cases of how it's done in the Ways of the North. I've read about things from wrapping yourself in a cloak and being seated in solitude in a place not to be found, to using the Runes. I don't think this path is something I can escape without feeling empty, or losing a part of myself. I think for a while now I've tried fighting against it, and it just left me weak and confused. Now, I think I'm really brought back home. Thanks for being a good friend Dan.

thanks and I looked at a few prayers but none was what I wanted. So I took a little from them and wrote my own.

If I knew how to send this message to you offline I would.
With respect...please look more closely at the third line of your opening paragraph. I know you meant to write "gentle as a soft rain" but that's not quite what is says.

I do like "A Warriors Prayer". Is it original?
