Our Imbolc... loveliest one yet

Well, how beautiful an Imbolc this year!

We're going to call it our 'accidental' holiday. You see, we've had a very horrid year. We always celebrate Sabbats & Esbats by 'going all out' & we've never missed one!

But, even with the opening of our store, things have been awful this year! To add insult to injury, my father's suicide at Yule & then my illness & K'krow's recent injury, almost 'sent Imbolc packing'.

Last night we were going to celebrate Imbolc (late) when we saw it's just not going to happen. So we were decidig if we wanted to do something quiet the next day, or would it be proper to celebrate Imbolc VERY late, next week, just to at least honor it!

Well we were kind of in a trance & not realizing really what we were doing, when suddenly we realized we were both laying next to each other with our home-made mead (we only use during rites) with the lights off & over 80 candles lit all over the room! (I guess one holder at a time was lit on a whim here & there - some hold 20+ candles & most are only used on sacred occasions - until it had 'happened')

We normally won't light even one candle when we don't need to because we can't afford them....

Somehow we had our 'bonfire' & Imbolc was quietly celebrated together as we lay there, sharing the mead, scrying in the candlelights & in utter awe of the Mother....
