I saw tonight that there were a few related discussions dealing with divinity. I am currently reading a book by Gregg Braden, which has the same title as this discussion.
One thing which I noticed in the discussions taking place here was a common notion that science seems to displace spirituality. I think a quote is in order here:
"A little science will lead us away from God. Much science will lead us back to him." Louis Pasteur
Braden's book is both a book of quantum physics, and a book of spirituality. What needs to be understood is that there have been new experiments within the last 10-20 years, the results of which are astounding. From previous work we already knew that when a subatomic particle is split into two equal pieces and are sent miles away from each other they still behave as one . . . what we do to one the other experiences likewise. What's even stranger is that time and distance have no bearing on this effect: it happens simultaneously. The bottom line: When particles which make up our universe are joined, they are always connected. The implication is that since all matter was joined at the creation of the universe, there still exists a connection.
Experiment 1.
Quantum biologist, Vladimir Poponin, published a report which appeared in the USA in 1995. The findings suggest that DNA "directly affects the physical world through what they believed was a new (previously unknown) field of energy connecting the two." (parenthicals my addition). The experiment tested the behavior of light particles in the presence of DNA. Not only did DNA influence the arrangement of the particles, the effect continued after the DNA was removed.
Experiment 2.
This one goes back to 1993. The US Army did a study on the remote effects on human DNA. Tissue swabbed
from the mouths of participants was taken to a remote location. The test subjects were subjected to different emotional states by being shown movies; Everything from war footage to pornography, to comedy. The electrical responses of the subject were measured, as were the electrical responses of their DNA. The DNA experienced the same electrical "dips and peaks" as the test subject. Further, the experiment was repeated with a distance of over 300 miles between the subject and their DNA, and not only were the results the same, the time between the responses of the subject and the DNA was measured by an atomic clock; the time delay was 0.00000 . The effect was simultaneous.
Experiment 3.
In 1991 an organization called the Institute of HeartMath documented the presence of a doughnut shaped electomagnetic field surrounding the heart and extending beyond the body. This is not to be mistaken with the body's aura, although there may be a connection, according to the book. Experiments were conducted between 1992 and 1995 to test the effects of human emotion on DNA using this field. Using a technique they called "coherent emotion", awareness is shifted to the heart area while focusing on positive emotions. This being done in the presence of human DNA, the results are verified: the DNA was modified by the presence of these emotions.
Pieced together, these findings suggest something incredible:
that, 1. There is a matrix of an energy which connects any one thing with everything else in the universe. And,
that, 2. The DNA in our bodies gives us access to the energy that connects our universe, and emotion is the key to tapping in to the field.
Shamanistic cultures, our old holy books, and the ancient wisdom of our past seemed to understand this, and to describe it thousands of years before modern science had appeared to scratch the surface. Braden went on to research these findings in those old traditions, and what he discovered was even more amazing.
When he asked a Tibetan abbot what was happening when we see him pray, chant, spin wheels, etc . . . the response was "You don't see me pray. You see things that help me to feel. Prayer is feeling." And another question was "What is the thing which connects all of us?". The answer was "compassion". Another monk described compassion as both a part of nature and an experience we all share.
The Monks were describing the unseen force which holds us all together as love. I was reminded that I was always taught that "God is Love".
Going on, science has learned that the mere act of observing has an effect on what we observe. Its theorized that all possibilities exist in a state of "potentiallity", and that only one state gets "locked in" . . . our observation giving power to the state which becomes our "reality". This subtle energy field the book is describing, which must have existed since creation as an observer (for without observation nothing could exist according to quantum theory) needs to be sentient, self aware, for anything to exist at all. It is best interacted with using emotions, particularly the emotions which are positive and compassionate.
Now, from my own thoughts:
When we call upon any of our many God/dess forms we are getting personal with the "matrix". When we call upon them they are indeed there for us, for we find what we look for. They are not separate from us, but connected to us, and within us. They are indeed real if they are real to us, and the Divine "matrix" responds. It doesn't matter if we call upon Diana, Kali, or Jesus. We will get our answer if it is sincere, from the heart, and born of compassion. I think at a later time I would like to write a blog about what we call "evil" and its influence here, but right now I am so taken by the beauty described in this book that I do not even want to think about it.
From Max Planck, the originator of quantum physics:
"As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear-headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about the atoms, this much: There is no matter as such! All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together . . . We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter"
Blessed Be
