The Need of Training in the Succession of our Priestesses and Priests
By First Elder Ed Hubbard
In my position, as First Elder, it is my primary duty and my concern, the succession and advancement of the orders of priestesses and priests within the Correllian Tradition. Under this duty, education and leadership training are of paramount concerns of the office. In order to be a healthy tradition we need to offer support and training to all its priests and priestesses, as best we can. This is essential to having common ground and ways to spread information and knowledge across our entire tradition.
In seeking to provide structure to the awakening of the soul that is spreading like wildfire across civilization, Correllians have chosen progress over perfection. We have chosen what works, replace what doesn’t, and when we don’t know, we experiment, in order to find ways to share knowledge. We want all people to recognize that they are their own priest or priestess and have a direct relationship with the divine. That everyone finds deity for themselves. As the initiated, we guide people towards awareness and help them prepare. In the end, it is the individual who accepts and surrenders to the divine, to experience God and Goddess for themselves.
So I believe that each member of the Correllian Tradition should be able to gain the education they need, to be the best and smartest person they can and want to be. That as clergy that we have a duty to seek out and develop genius anywhere we can. That is a goal that is truly worthy of spending a lifetime obtaining. That is the core of the need of the tradition at this time, to provide the knowledge needed to build local communities, and provide structure to their beliefs.
I recognize that we are nowhere near able to provide anything but barest minimum of education needed currently, but what we offer we do very, very well. We know that our ability must grow in order to provide useful knowledge to all our members. We are adding to our knowledge day after day, year after year, of what is important today, and prepare for the massive changes coming in the decades and centuries to come.
In time, The Priestesses and Priests of the Correllian Tradition will have to do more than simply exist, simply seeking to understand their relationship with Deity, and discovering their gifts of spirit. They will have to provide for their families, build their communities, and provide the tools needed to build a better life. Education and knowledge is the primary source of the future wealth and access to the resources needed. So what I do today, as First Elder, in cooperation with our clergy and members is essential to the tradition now and for generations to come. That what we carry in our minds, in our libraries, in our databases, and within our spirits is the true wealth of our tradition, and that is what we will build our future on.
From my perspective the future of our tradition ultimately depends upon our ability to embrace our roles as future teachers, protectors of knowledge, and how well we use our resources to develop our communities. All of this depends on the quality of our commitment to the future, to our children, and the generations to come. In the short time of this physical incarnation, I pray that we be able to begin a process of lifetime education for all members, their families, and for generations to come. It is one of the most important actions as my time of First Elder, to assure that we build in the succession of priests and priestesses, the desire and ability to support lifetime education, regardless of the conditions and situations to come. If we as a tradition can do this, then we will make a incredible difference in the world, and in the lives of all of those to come.
Blessed Be
