The New Year

FIrst let me say that I am sorry to have disapeared last year. I'm not sure when it happened or why I just dropped of the face of the internet world. The good part was I was in the present and real world last year. The bad part was I gone from here suddenly & without notice.

2011 came with many joys and many challenges. I traveled for work more last year than in the previous 14 years combined. I've spent the year trying to balance two job positions, which can be overwhelming at times. I attempted my first garden with mixed results. Went fishing for the first time since I was a kid. I ran two 5K races last year.

We had record snow last year & record precipitation for the year. We had an earthquake over the summer. We buckled down and road out Hurricane Irene and somehow kept power despite over half our city being in the dark. The Halloween Nor'Easter was less kind to us, though we kept power which was a blessing. We lost one of our Oaks to the storm along with sustaining some property damage. During the same week, we lost our water heater.

I realized last week that 2012 will be a big year for change. I don't know what yet, but I know I need to be open to it. Goals for the year include:
