The Pagan Globetrotter - Issue 5- January NC trip, The trip home

14 January 2012

As I drove away from Eden, North Carolina about noon, the little Global Positioning Sprites in this little box in my trunk decided to take me up Interstate Highway 81, through the Shenandoah Valley in Central Virginia. What an amazing drive!

Growing up a true son of the South, I have ancestors that fought in the Shenandoah Valley. Just reading the names on the signs for the exits was like a kind of a trip down through the memories I have of stories about my great, great, great, great uncle.

It again reminded me of the simplicity of life when you get out into the rural countryside, and farms. It was just a really, really nice drive.

Taking 81 up through Harrisburgh, Pennsylvania is also a geography lesson. I went through North Carolina into Virginia, from Virginia into West Virginia and from there into Maryland, before finally passing back into Pennsylvania. So it’s been quite a sight-seeing tour. I’ve got a few pictures to share of just some of the beauty of the countryside and the simplicity of life.

That’s about it for this blog. I’ll be talking with you again soon.
