THE SILVER LINING

Is there a silver lining to this rain cloud of economic depression we are in today?
I think so , I just replied to a comment made by a young lady named Bella here on the witchschool site , she is working at McD's and is helping to support her two disabled parents also, Even though there is hardship there she has not abandoned her Parents and took the easy way out she works hard and takes care of home first. That is to be Commended and admired.
I stated that in the comment that the forfathers and mothers of our traditions in the craft were hard working people that didnt have a lot of resorces we take for granted anymore , they could not afford book even if they were available and they could read them , they didnt have 300 dollar athemes and guilded statues of the gods on there alters heck most probably didnt have an alter, they used what they had , the broom, the cooking pot, the elements around them and there imagination .
They did all that and now we have a wonderful and Beautiful craft to use and traditions to follow.
It is not all about the money folks , its about the love and respect due to the tradition heads and elders, lets love out "parents" in the tradition also and assist them any any way we are able and yes i mean with our financial support if we can.
In the example of Rev Don ( and forgiver me if I get a little personal), and other tradition heads , their time is at a premium they are asked to come to speaking enguagements all the time and to travel at the drop of a hat, to come in and teach for free and to somehow mysteriously pay for all that . It is a sad fact that our Leaders are living on nothing and being asked to preform for us services that we take for granted. and for the most part they sheild us from the starki reality of what they are having to do to survive out there, I know for a fact that our Beloved leader was sleeping on a air matress until recently and finally got a real bed. only to lose his apartment and now he is living in a by the month hotel.
We have to take it as our responsibility to assist our leaders, there is no health plan , no dental, no retirement.
It saddens me when I think of Isaac Bonewits, another Pagan leader and wonderful (working) author who died recently , This Extremly Important man died in debt and worring about what would happen to his beloved family.
It would be alot easier for these leaders to say to hell with it and just find a 9-5 job and live the dream but they have taken it upon themselves to follow the Goddess and do the works of a religios leader. to their own detriment at times.
I work as a Walmart Door Greeter and I am better off financially than a lot of these wonderful men and ladies, now how sad is that.
As for me i choose to put my money where my mouth is and i will continue to support this tradition as long as i live and I am purchasing a life insurance policy as a way to assist it upon my death .
