Am I the only person in this world who wants to run really fast in the other direction every time someone says they are empathic, or psychic or have visions or any other related phenomena in an introductory post on a mailing list or message board.
To me, it seems the right thing to say to make people think you're more impressive than you really are because no one can see the real you sitting behind that computer screen.
I have to see real tangible evidence that you can do what you say you can do before I'll even begin to take steps towards believing about your empathy or visions.
On one side of the spectrum is my friend, Jas. She IS the real thing. I know about the things she sees, the meditations she's done, her ability to manipulate energy. She did a spell for me once and it manifested, very quickly. When she says she seen or done something, I know it's real, I've seen and experienced the evidence.
On the other side of the spectrum, one of the students in my coven said, when I met her, she was empathic and could easily manipulate energy and that crystals talked to her... to date I have only see her in her own little world 90% of the time and very unaware of what's going on around her. Not much of an empath, hey? As for the other two things... well, if she is an empath she can't shield and I can't really say yay or nay about the crystals. I wonder what they talk about?
And then there was my former teacher who said she predicted 9/11 would happen 24 hours before it happened because she saw a vision in the clouds. *cough*bullshit*cough* WELL, THEN WHY DIDN'T SHE TELL ANYBODY!?! She was all about her ego and said a lot of things to make people think she was better than she was. Unfortunately, I got the true story from a bunch of her former friends a few years later.
So when someone tells me they have otherworldly powers, now you understand why I'm making tracks in the other direction ...
