Well, as usual, a long time between posts. Had a very nce summer, despite the incredible amounts of rain. I got a lot of exercise and am definitely in better health becuse of it. I continued my volunteer work with kids and then started a paid job working with kids as a Human Services Counsellor, but that, alas, came to an end when I was laid off last week. So it's back to the job search for me. I have some leads on some interesting looking ones so not feeling too panicked yet.


We had several bonfires in my stealth firepit over the summer and fall and really enjoyed those. Spent a weekend at my sister's cabin on a big lake, ut otherwie had a low key summer.

The fall has been unseasonably cold and wet and we keep getting large amounts of water dumped on us that causes flooding in some of our neighborhoods. I liveon the top of a rocky hill though, so no wet basements for me!

My garden did well, except for my lavendar. Too much shade where I planted it I think. Lots of peas, cherry tomatoes, banana peppers and huge amount of spearmint. Corn only got to be about 3 feet tall. Planted it late, too much rain, and crappy soil. Tons of Nasturtiums and poppies though. Next year I am gonna have a kickass garden even if it kills me!

Have had many deer visiting my neighbour's back yards (they can't get in to mine)over the summer, and last week there was a big handsome 6 point buck chewing up their garden.
